Prerequisite: None
This is an eight-week course for older puppies (12 weeks and older) and dogs (adult) without previous training. It is especially appropriate for puppies that have had socialization classes such as those held in vet clinics or any dog that has had less than eight weeks of previous training. The KCKC Basic class teaches you the principles of positive reinforcement training. You apply these principles while teaching your dog-controlled walking in the presence of other dogs and distractions as well as sit, down, come and stay. You and your dog will learn how to integrate these new skills into your day-to-day living such as greeting guests into your home or meeting dogs/people on your outings. Problem behaviors will be addressed as needed. A certificate of completion (and a treat for your dog) will be earned at the end of this class. This class also teaches the skills needed for dogs less than one year of age to meet the requirements for AKC's S.T.A.R. Puppy program.
NO DOGS FOR THE FIRST-CLASS PER INSTRUCTORS!
